SUMMARY: The DIGITALCFO group is a global online community for tech-minded finance executives and professionals. The group’s mission is to more effectively communicate, collaborate & share business information with group members worldwide.

PROFILE GUIDELINES: Prospective member’s profiles should be relevant as noted below. Individuals generally are employed or have previously worked in a technology-focused industry and are in a finance, accounting or business management function (or pursuing a like role if not employed). In addition, the member profile must be substantially complete (i.e. connections, specialties, experience, etc..) and members should intend to actively participate in the group at least once per month.

FUNCTIONS: Members include (but are not limited to) CFOs, VP/Directors, Controllers, Managers, Financial Analysts and Accountants working in the Finance, General Accounting, Audit, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, M&A, Public Accounting and Management Consulting areas.

INDUSTRIES: Group members come from an extensive and wide variety of technology-focused sectors. Industries represented include traditional tech areas such as Computers and Pharmaceuticals as well as non-traditional tech areas employing technology such as Retail and Consumer Products. Members currently not working at or associated with a technology-savvy business generally have previous technology experience or bring with them strong technology skills and interests.

OTHER MEMBERS: Non-finance professionals who work closely with Finance are welcome to request membership (subject to approval). However, at this time membership is closed to Executive Recruiters, B2C (Business-To-Consumer) Service Providers, Marketers, Advertisers and any other persons requesting to join the group with the intention to sell products or services for commercial purposes. Group members who subsequently move to a commercial role are subject to group removal at the group manager’s discretion.

WHAT IS THE DIGITALCFO COMMUNITY?

Computers continue to get more powerful. The Internet gives us unlimited potential for finding business information and communicating worldwide using social media tools. Mobile phone applications are constantly improving allowing higher productivity and better communications when on the go. Yet effective online global networking, communicating and collaborating among professional peer groups has been much slower to evolve.

For financial professionals the DIGITALCFO LinkedIn Group, launched in April 2010, sets out to make better online collaboration in the global workplace a reality. The group which now exceeds 4,300 members (as of November 2010) will be the gateway to the DIGITALCFO COMMUNITY, an online environment for tech-minded financial accounting professionals, that will facilitate information sharing as well as allow engagement in industry specific questions and targeted discussions.

Most importantly, in a time of continued economic uncertainty, lingering unemployment and a long-term shift to companies hiring more part-time workers, the DIGITALCFO COMMUNITY will provide a venue for members to reach out to peers for interim project assignments as well full-time professional roles.

The DIGITALCFO Community is planned for launch in January 2011.
